Usage Instructions for TaskBot

Pre-requisites

  • Facebook cookies
  • OpenAI API key

Configuration

Before running the TaskBot, you need to fill in the following variables. Variables that need to be filled in are marked with a *:

  • *Friend # to start with: This will allow you to start further down your friends list if you want instead of at the beginning where you likely have contacted friends recently.
  • *Message to use: This is the message you want it to send, such as "How is your day going". The friend's first name will be added to the message automatically.
  • *How Many Days before it can message the Same account: Fill this in with the number of days you want the TaskBot to wait before it can message the same friend again.
  • *FB Sync Pin: This is the sync pin for your Facebook messages that Facebook has recently implemented. This should be a 6-digit number.
  • *How many Friends to Get links from: This is the number of friends you want pulled into your list at the beginning for the TaskBot to work through each time you run it. After all are used, it will pull another list of this amount to work through.
  • *How many friends to Go through Per Run: This is the number of friends you want to check on every run.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • Issue: TaskBot fails to start. Solution: Ensure all required variables are filled in correctly. Check your internet connection and try restarting the TaskBot.
  • Issue: Invalid Facebook cookies. Solution: Double-check that the Facebook cookies are up-to-date and correctly copied into the TaskBot configuration.
  • Issue: OpenAI API key error. Solution: Verify that your OpenAI API key is correct and has the necessary permissions. Ensure that your API key has not expired or been revoked.
  • Issue: FB Sync Pin error.Solution: Ensure that the FB Sync Pin is correctly entered and is a valid 6-digit number.
